Manuscript collections showcase the work of notable military leaders, defense analysts, scholars, and diplomats who have been part of the NPS community. Memos, correspondence, scrapbooks and diaries bring personal insight to authors' publications and professional accomplishments.
Our archival collections focus on the history of NPS and the two Navy commands established on this site during World War II (the Del Monte Pre-Flight School and Naval Technical School, Del Monte). Collections include memos, letters, and diaries as well as publications, official records, photographs, maps, artifacts, and ephemera.
Images & film offer a visual record of NPS campus events, buildings, and individuals. Several collections span the period from the 1940s to present.
The collection features key works and rare volumes on military, naval and maritime history, including a collection of the Lucky Bag "year book" of the United States Naval Academy.
Our campus is centered around the historic Hotel Del Monte, one of the world's leading resorts in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Ephemera, images, publications, and artifacts of the landmark hotel are part of our Special Collections & Archives.
