NPS Archive: Calhoun Highlights

We added 6,000 new NPS-authored documents to NPS Archive: Calhoun in 2017.

  • ~ 1,000 scholarly articles by NPS faculty
  • ~ 643 new NPS Theses and Dissertations
  • in other categories -- hundreds of new patents, reports, presentations and videos, now web-visble and publicly accessible. 

Google Scholar, Internet Archive and other search engines and scholarly repositories link to content from Calhoun, enabling nearly 4 million downloads of NPS' works by viewers from around the world this year.

Electronic Resources Highlights

Information in electronic format continues to grow and expand in leaps and bounds. We continued to address and incorporate processes and technologies to keep pace with the evolving electronic landscape and provide 24/7 access to library patrons.

Our efforts to collect the right information at the right time in the eResource life cycle helped us resolve unanticipated access issues more rapidly. Trends show our work is paying off -- successfully putting content quickly into the hands of patrons -- as we continued to reduce the number of total bug reports and the time it took to resolve issues.
